The Shiba Inu Yakuza in West End and Hell's Kitchen

Do it!! Kenji didn’t hesitate. He took the claw on his right paw, dug it in behind his right eye, and flicked with such force it broke from the optic nerve and flew across the table, landing in the bowl of Sake that Yoshio, the crime boss had been drinking. The optic nerve snapped back, Kenji closed his eye, and smiled a big ass grin, tilting his hed slightly the left in good Shiba Inu fashion.

Kenji knew the street cred one eye would bring in the neighborhood. When going for walks in the West Side Parkway or through Hellz Kitchen, all the other Shiba Inu would steer clear. Even those Japanese pugs would dare reaching for the razor all of those butt ugly thugs are known for posessing under their collars. All the pitties and the handful of Rottweilers in the neighborhood would learn in time, that Kenji was not someone to mess with.

A decade ago, there were not Shiba Inu Yakuza in the West End of Hell’s Kitchen. But since the early 2000s Yamaguchi-gumi and Yama-Ichi Shiba Inu’s had begun moving in, with their owners buying up buildings, and moving into the best real estate in the new high rises dotting the landscape of the West End. Things had begun to get pretty scary for Kenji and his family. He feared for his owners, as well as his own life. He needed to join a gang or perish, and the Yakuza was the logical choice.

Now to head home. Yoshio was impressed at Kenji’s response. “No hestiation!!” He said swiftly. “You will make a loyal soldier!” Kenji knew if he hesitate and thought about, looked nervous, or any other response, that he’d lose his eye and likely his life within just a few weeks. Now he’d head home and heal. He’d lay on the couch and ponder what he could do with his new found power. Walks through the building, lobby, and the park would never be the same. Kenji was Yakuza.
